The EXT Hydraulic Bottom-Out Control (HBC) is a position-sensitive damping system designed to improve end-stroke support and control.

It uses a secondary piston and inner tube near the bottom of the shock. As the suspension approaches the final 15% of travel, the secondary piston enters the tube, restricting oil flow through a calibrated circuit to create a controlled ramp-up at bottom-out.

This system is externally adjustable, allowing riders in New Zealand to tune it to their weight, riding style, and terrain preferences.

By making the final part of the stroke more progressive, HBC allows for softer initial settings without sacrificing support at full compression. The result is improved traction, a more controlled feel, and consistent bottom-out resistance even on the roughest terrain.

At the heart of the EXT Aria is its unique dual positive air chamber design, paired with a large self-equalising negative chamber. Unlike traditional volume spacer systems, this setup gives riders precise control over the entire air spring curve, allowing suspension performance to be tuned throughout the full stroke.

The primary (+) chamber controls initial sensitivity, dynamic sag, and mid-stroke support, while the secondary (++) chamber manages mid-to-end stroke feel and bottom-out resistance. The result is a more supportive, predictable ride with improved mid-stroke stability and coil-like sensitivity, without the compromises typically associated with conventional air shocks.

Available on all EXT MTB shocks supplied by Ryder Imports New Zealand, the LOK 2.0 Pedal Platform system improves climbing efficiency while maintaining the traction and control EXT is known for.

Using a dedicated hydraulic circuit, LOK 2.0 reduces pedal bob and increases support during climbs and long pedal sections. In Open mode, the system is completely bypassed, allowing the shock to deliver maximum sensitivity and descending performance.

A built-in blow-off valve protects the shock if the platform is left engaged on rough terrain, while custom tuning options allow riders to tailor performance to their weight, riding style, and local trail conditions.
